DAY ONE 2025!
We pulled out of the slip at 7:00, 23 degrees! Stopped on our way out of the marina to lend a had to the crew of Theodore (Richard & Francey) who had to deal with frozen dock lines, high winds, etc. Together, we left the marina just after 7:30. It was breezy, but not as rough as we thought it might be. Overall, a great 1st day! It's always exciting to go through Norfolk and see the Naval "Force". We ended up having to wait for 2 trains at the #7 bridge... and then pour on the coals to make the schedule opening of the Great Bridge Lock (dropped about 2 feet), then through the Great Bridge Bridge, and tied up for the night at Atlantic Yacht Basin. Here is a link to today's track. Sorry the first photo is fuzzy… too cold to fine tune!
