Windy day in Belhaven

The wind built last evening, so we were glad to be staying put.  Leisurely morning, and a nice breakfast at The Gingerbread Bakery.  Dave and I walked a few miles around town while Gwen & Tina did their best to make sure the local boutiques have a successful January.  Found the ICW Brewery which we’ll have to try another time.

Great Dinner (Filet Fondue appetizer & crab cakes with cheese grits & spinach) at Bistro 1904 which is the restaurant/pub at The River Forest Manor, a grand inn designed by the same architect as Biltmore in Asheville NC… much smaller but still pretty grand.  Then, desert at “Spoon River”, we shared an outstanding Vanilla Bean/German Chocolate Cheese Cake (with ice cream & whipped cream).  Both places 10/10.

Tomorrow at 1st light we head to Morehead City NC.
