Travel Day 1

1/8/24:  We departed at 7:00 on 1/8.  Beautiful sunrise, and a pretty nice day on the bay.  Smooth travel through Norfolk, even came across a Navy Submarine headed out to sea!  Their escort wanted to know our "intentions" and carefully stayed between us and the sub as we passed by.  Even came across a guy in waders fly fishing... we slowed way down so our wake didn't flood his waders.  The PDF file included here shows details of our track for the day.  Our Track

The weather for Tuesday looked rough (30kts with guts to 40, 50, maybe even 60) so we decided to stay put, and spend the day at Great Bridge (one of the "always up railroad bridges is being lowered, and won't go up "until the wind dies down tomorrow).  So... slept in, delicious omelets for breakfast, followed by a nice 2+ mile walk in between the rain drops.  Looking forward to a quiet, relaxing afternoon.  Current plan, always subject to change is the short run to Coinjock tomorrow (Wednesday)

Note:  quoting a friend: "Typed with my thumbs and voice to text, please excuse any typos and the brevity"
