Beaufort, SC (BUfert)
Nice cruise from Charleston to Beaufort SC (pronounced BUfert, not to be confused with BOWfert, NC). Beautiful Sunrise, some very low tides (but we didn’t “touch bottom”. In Hollywood SC, we passed a barge/boat from the “American Waterways Wind Orchestra”.. below is a picture from today (no longer in service, along with a picture from her heyday when she would pull into town (US and Europe), open up and play an orchestra concert). Here is Today’s Track. We arrived Beaufort mid afternoon, and took a walking tour around town, beautiful old homes, hugh trees covered in Spanish Moss… a neat small town. We’re here for two nights, so more exploring tomorrow. Dinner Tuesday evening at the Hearth restaurant (recommended by Safe Harbor dock hand)… it was ok, nice atmosphere, great service, ok food. Probably should have gotten the wood fired pizza which looked good (Jim got Chicken Parmesan, Gwen Shrimp Salad).

We have stayed at the Beaufort Inn and walked that same area. Love all the Spanish moss and the big Live Oaks. Linda
